Our School
Beechfield is a friendly, welcoming and inclusive school with high expectations for every child both academically and socially. Our school population is a reflection of the rich cultural diversity of the community. Our children originate from many different countries, speaking a large number of languages. We believe this makes our school a vibrant, exciting and special place to be.
At Beechfield, we are committed to safeguarding all members of our community. We believe that our school should provide a safe, caring, positive, and stimulating environment in which pupils can learn and which promotes the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of each individual. At all times, we take notice of and adhere to national and local policies and guidance in regards to keeping children safe in education.
We strive for equity and equality through encouraging and respecting diversity, challenging discrimination and holding courageous conversations.
We are fortunate to have enthusiastic staff, who are committed to high standards of education and behaviour. The school has a wonderful “family atmosphere” which gives children a secure and happy environment in which to learn and develop as young adults. The partnership between home and school is a vital one and mutual support is imperative, so we strive to work in close partnership with our parents and families to do the very best for our children and our community. Our practice is rooted in our belief that all members of the community should be treated with respect and dignity and that everyone has the right to equality of opportunity and is of equal worth.
In March 2018, we converted to Academy status and joined the Inclusive Multi Academy Trust (IMAT). This is a small MAT consisting of just three schools, Cherry Tree, Laurance Haines and Beechfield, all in Watford. The IMAT’s vision is to: ‘Inspire and nurture our children and their community to be the very best that they can be.’ We are excited about the future - working together and sharing good practice across the three schools.
Our school is an open one, where we are keen to see and hear from parents. Please feel free to raise any concerns or queries with your child’s class teacher, myself or the office staff, who can put you in contact with the right person. You can contact me directly via email at head@beechfield.herts.sch.uk or on twitter at @HeadBeechfield.
